Act I – Seeking Something Real
They call it an Age of Despair. When the Cataclysm struck Krynn, it shattered civilization as people had known it, casting down empires and breaking apart the continent of Ansalon itself – at least as it had been.
Still worse, the gods themselves turned their backs on the mortal races, leaving you to fend for yourselves through the most desperate hour of your existence.
It’s been 300 years since then, and only now has the world started to recover… but things are not as they were. In the lands of Abasinia, cult after cult dedicated to the worship of new gods have arisen, leeching off of the people like parasites.
You and your friends went your separate ways to try to find some sign – any sign – of a true god in the world, some faith that could set your home free of the charlatans, the shysters, and the would-be warlords.
You’ve been apart for nearly a year, now, and seen dark things on the road. Grim armies of unknown banners massing in the east. Rumors of monsters never seen in the world before.
It’s time to come home.
